The Seamonster is a live music venue, in the heart of Wallingford. We showcase Jazz, Old School R&B, dirty funk, Latin, and World Music artists. Our love of all styles of music is very stong, however if you are Rock band you need not apply, because we probably won't be a good fit.

Keeping the styles of music we showcase in mind, you must decide if you would be a good fit. if so here are the steps you will need to take:

  • Send us our promo packet with all of the listed information included (see details below)
  • Once you have sent off the packet, send a short email ( email address below) letting us know that you have sent the packet.
  • From time to time we get bumbarded with bands looking to be featured, so give us some time to get back to you. We will respond regardless of the outcome.


STEPS TO GETTING A BOOKING.

1. INFORMATION IS KEY: (Items we need to have in packet)

  • Why the Seamonster? - Is your band a fit with us and why.
  • Style - In ten word or less describe your musical style.
  • Band history - Where, with who and when.
  • Draw -What kind of draw does your band have and how many people represent you at your shows.
  • Promoting yourself - How do you promote your band and your shows. (Website and Myspace page with music a must)
  • Next Event -Where could we go to see you play next.
  • Finally, if you have gone through the following steps be persistent, but don't be a nag. We will contact you and give you our thoughts once we have decided if you are a good fit for us.

2. MARKETING FOR SUCCESS

Marketing your show at the Seamonster is key to your succes as a band. Strong turnout from your supporters will potentially open a great many doors for you and could help with additional bookings here and at other venues.

  •   Posters - We require 6 -10 poster , to be delievered two weeks prior to your show date. If you wish to email them to us you can do so, but allow and extra week for printing and any problems that may occur.
  • Email promotion - This is another great source for getting people in to support you. We ask that we be added to your email list so we can monitor your progress and also lend a hand if need be.

    • Samples of People you will want to contact:
      • Fans, family, friends, and coworkers.
      • Radio stations.
      • Newspapers, magazines,weekly's and blogs.
      • Myspace, and other online social networking services.
  • Promotional fliers - fliers are an important part of getting out. We require that 50 fliers half size three weeks before the your show.
